A real gem in the upcoming auction on Friday, January 15th at 5:30pm is an original watercolour by famed Nova Scotian Artist Tom Forrestall painted in 1974. The watercolour comes complete with a letter from the artist explaining the painting. In the Artist’s own words, “Your 1974 watercolour is of my oldest son William, who at the time was 15 years old. We have an old (built in 1815) farmhouse near Annapolis Royal, the painting shows William in the dining room, his winter jacket indicates some of our winter stays at the old house. William lives in Fredericton and is a fine painter in his own rite. I even recognize the mug in his hand.”

The painting is quite special and knowing who the subject is and the special notes about it really bring it alive. It’s pieces like this that really make our jobs fun.
